We had the chance to talk with Halli about how he approaches design, and we talked specifically about how he approached the project of putting his own work out there. Here’s what he had to say. The Interview Tuts+: When you were approaching the problem of building out your own portfolio, what were your design imperatives and objectives? Halli: First of all, it was for myself. As you know, usually you don’t have full control over projects you’re working on [in the contracting world] — they may have commercial or business reasons for doing something you would prefer to do in a different way.
